Shakespeare Database – kinda fun, useful, helpful

Shakespeare Film & Television Database

From Museum of the Moving Image site:
This site, run by the British Universities Film and Video Council, is a database of all film and video adaptations of Shakespeare’s work. Each entry features a very short synopsis and production information. Includes a “references and reviews” section, which features bibliographic references to the film listed.

Film & Television Literature Index (Database)

Film & Television Literature Index
First, just a reminder about this database, good for all subject areas.  Second, EBSCO (vendor) has added a few new features that may interest you:

  • Search over 24,000 images
  • Variety Movie Reviews back to 1914! Full text starting at 1920, but not everything of course. Many of the DW Griffith’s are not included, along with such memorable silents as Perils of Pauline… but it’s a start.
